1 Your strong suit was the amount of technical information that was in the slides. You did great at having enough on the slides with most of the info off on your cards. The presentation didn't look like a teleprompter. I didn't know that Mandela was offered three times to recant and slide into the shadows for his freedom, and three times he rejected the offers.
ReplyDelete2 Only thing I had trouble with was the grey type on a black background. It was hard to read, thus hard to follow as you went through the list.
1. The information presented was done well. You gave a lot of information I didn't know prior to the presentation. For example: I didn't know that he was influenced by Ghandi. You also did a good job keeping eye contact and not reading off the board or your notecards.
ReplyDelete2. It was hard to hear Brian when presenting, he could of talked a little louder but other than that you guys did a very good job.
1. I thought your presentation was set up nicely, the information was presented nicely. There was a lot of information that you guys gave that I hadn't known before this, like how he was given three different chances to get out of jail and refused each one of them.
ReplyDelete2. It seemed that the part your presentation lacked was the comparison and contrasting part. You never told us who we could compare Nelson Mandela to, other than that, your information was clear and well researched, nice job.
1. I think you both did a great job presenting. It was very informational and I learned a lot about Mandela such as how he had three different opportunities to get out of prison but turned them down each time.
ReplyDelete2. The only thing that I would critique would be the link to the wrong video, but it's hard for me to be too picky seeing as how I couldn't even get a video to play.
1. I think that you two did a very good job at presenting. I did not know that Nelson Mandela was offered three chances to be free and he denied them. I thought giving this detail showed how strong he felt about what he believed in. I also did not know that he had not taken the opportunity to be president again when he could have.
ReplyDelete2. The only thing I would criticize is the gray type on the black background. It made it hard to read what was on the board. Other then that you two did great.
1. I thought it was a very informational presentation. Both of you sounded like you knew what you were talking about which added strength to the presentation. Lots of info and knowledge. I did not know Mandela used violent tactics, prior to this I thought he was all for peace.
ReplyDelete2. The slides were hard to read because of the text on the black background. Also, little info was given about the ANC, I had no idea what the ANC was and it was hard to follow along with that info missing. That could be my fault for not knowing, though.
1.) The amount of information you were able to give in such a short time was impressive. I was able to follow what you were saying very easily and the sides were a nice addition because I was able to follow along on those. I had no idea that Mandela rejected three opportunities to be released from prison.
ReplyDelete2.) The one thing your presentation lacked was a comparison. You did a great job presenting your facts, however there was little analysis done in terms of comparison.
The information you presented was very detailed and precise. I had not really know anything about the man before your presentation. And I learned a lot from it.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you should have added was a background slide. Giving us the setting and clearly stating was the different groups were in Africa that were involved would have helped me follow the presentation a little better.
1.) You guys did a great job on being really informative! I enjoyed the part where Cole mentions that Mandela did not seek a second term because he believed in democracy.
ReplyDelete2.) You guys are partners! Feed off each other instead of I do this slide and you do next slide approach.
1) Very good amount of details on Mandela. I didn't know that he was offered a deal three times to be released from jail, and that he refused all of them.
ReplyDelete2)One thing I would improve on is your presentation skills. I noticed that both of you had a monotone voice during the entire presentation. Also, one thing that wasn't very clear is the aftermath of Mandela. What kind of impacts did he have on the rest of the world?
1. Your guys had a ton of facts, I could tell that you did your research. I thought that it was interesting that he was relatable to George Washington.
ReplyDelete2. Don't be afraid to use your voice! :)
1) I had heard only the name of Nelson Mandela before, and really did not know anything else. You guys presented so much information in your presentation, and I thought it was very interesting. Mandela's passion is truly inspiring. I did not know that he had been imprisoned for about half of his life, and that he had three chances to be free and declined them.
ReplyDelete2) You have the knowledge, so don't be afraid to speak up! You both had awesome facts.
You guys did a good job researching facts and presenting background on Mandela. There was a lot of information on each slide. I never knew that he spent so much time in jail, and I like the connection you made to George Washington and the honorable decision of Mandela to only serve one term.
ReplyDeleteThe main thing that threw me off was that you all didn't look up how to pronounce apartheid. The word means "apartness," and when pronounced correctly you can hear the word "apart" clearly in "apartheid." I feel like the one thing that could be improved was forethought into how well the audience would understand what you were talking about.
One of the things i thought done really well was the information gathered and the slides made to go with them made it easy to follow along. I learned that nelson mandela was in jail for over twenty years and that his party was not always peaceful. i had always thought they were peaceful throughout the formation and nelson being in prison.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems i had with this presentation is that i could not always hear the speakers clearly. I would suggest speaking louder and more directly to your audience on another presentation.
1.) I thought your guys' presentation was great and informational! I knew nothing about Nelson Mandela except for that he was an icon. Afterwards, I knew exactly what he was all about, the presentation was super interesting and well put together.
ReplyDelete2.) The only criticism that I can give is to speak louder when presenting, there was a few times when I couldn't hear clearly. Otherwise, it was great!
I really liked how much information you guys provided. Within the short time we were limited to you guys had gone over many facts about Mandela that were very interesting. I learned a lot of new things about this great man.
ReplyDeleteMy only critique is that you guys should have focused more on why he was so iconic to the world rather than just facts about his life.
You guys had a lot of facts that you provided in a very good manor. I did not know that he had several chances to get out and denied it because he felt so strongly about his cause. How many people would do that? My recommendation would be to have more confidence because you both had great information!
