Post all comments for this group below this post, please, as we all need feedback, and it's valuable.

1. In this presentation, I really liked the specific times of the events playing out, it really put it all into perspective for me how it must've felt to be there in such a big tragedy. There was so many facts in this that I didn't know prior! For example, the bomb and the story of the girl that was shot due to her answer on her religion. Everything was put together really nicely.
ReplyDelete2. The only criticism that I have for this presentation is that I would have liked to her more of an opinion than fact of how this event was iconic, the answer given was a little vague. But other than that it was great and really interesting!
1 Amber and Devon did very well at bouncing between each other throughout their presentation, the coordination was smooth. I didn't realize that they shooters originally went to bomb the school instead of razing through it with a gun.
ReplyDelete2 I would suggest not to lean while presenting and maybe a little more looking around the room, but overall they did great.
1. I thought you two did a great job giving a detailed walk-through of the way everything happened. It was very informative and I actually learned about several things for the first time, such as the two bombs that were supposed to go off.
ReplyDelete2. The only thing I would critique about this presentation would be that at first you started talking too fast, but it was only for the first minute or so. Otherwise I thought you two did very good!
1. I really liked at how you guys started in the beginning, you guys walked us through the shooting giving us the exact times and locations making it easy for the audience to know what was going on. I had no idea that the kids at the school thought it was all a prank.
ReplyDelete2. I would have liked to heard more about copy-cats people who've tried to recreate it. The compare and contrast part. You gave some information on that but not much, but overall it was very informational and well planned out good job.
While listening to you presentation I was very impressed with the amount of information you provided and knew about your subject. I was not very familiar with the shootings and now I feel very informed about it.
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was great, the only thing I would recommend is that you would have connected it more to what is going on today with the school shootings, for example how many have there been and what is happening with the debate over gun laws?

1. Something that i admired about this presentation is how you guys provided the important details about the shooting and analyzed it to give a more clearer picture to what was the reasoning behind these horrific actions. If there's anything that I learned from this presentation it would have to be the planning of the detonation of the bombs within the school to kill over 400 people. I had always thought that this was always intended to be a shooting spree.
ReplyDelete2. I wish you guys covered more about the aftermath of this event, which would have helped you describe how this event was important and how it affected schools in the present day in terms of regulations being made to protect students from future massacres.
This presentation had a really good flow to it, with very detailed descriptions of the whole event. One thing I learned is that the pair planned to bomb the school before they went in and began shooting.
ReplyDeleteSome criticisms stemming from the way the presentation was given was that it didn't leave room for information relevant to the iconic status of the event. I think if you had allotted some time at the end to go more in depth on what kind of lasting effects this attack had, it would have made the presentation more complete.
great job on your presentation, I think the topic you both chose is one of great importance to our society today and is something we can learn from. You both did a fantastic job discussing the shooting and what took place, it was very detailed and well done. One thing I would add to the presentation is to talk more about the effects of the shooting and its lasting affect on society.
ReplyDelete1.) Overall I felt your presentation was very well done. One thing I really thought benefitted your presentation was how you walked us through the events of the morning. I learned quite a bit about the entire event through your description.
ReplyDelete2.) Your presentation was very interesting, however I think that it would have been a great if you were able to discuss the effects that Columbine has had on our current society. It may have been ale to drive home the point about how iconic this shooting truly is since most of us weren't quite old enough to remember the exact day itself.
Super factual! I liked how you guys laid out your presentation. You did really well this sharing the speaking. Something that I thought you could work on would be looking and moving around a little more. Overall great job.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things i learned from this presentation was that the shooters actually had a bomb with them as well. I always thought that they went there planning on killing people until someone stopped them or they got away, but with the evidence the group presented, i learned that they originally planned on placing a bomb that would blow up the school and kill or hurt everyone in it while they watched from outside. Overall the evidence and analysis provided was excellent. However, one problem that not only your group but every group demonstrated was stuttering and placing filler words in your presentations. Throughout the presentation i heard a lot of uhms as well as other filler words. If presenters would practice more this probably wouldn't have been a issue. Filler words detract from the audiences attention and often times can damage credibility.
ReplyDelete1) Your presentation was very good at using photos. The photo from the security camera were especially very good for the subject. I also learned many new things about the shooting, like how the shooters tried to use a bomb first.
ReplyDelete2) One thing that could be improved is the amount of information you had on the effects on society from the shooting. The presentation had a lot of facts about the shooting, but not enough on the aftermath.
Great knowledge of the shooting. A lot of facts and information about the incident. Both seemed very comfortable with the slide and knew how to present the information well.
ReplyDeleteMy only advice would be to look away from the slide a little more and make eye contact with people.

ReplyDeleteFor doing a topic that is, to me, hard to present, I thought it was really good. The presentation flowed nicely and you knew the info very well. Great eye contact also.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you could work is to not depend on the slides for the transition or the info. Put those things on the note card so you're always engaged with the audience.
I really liked the way your presentation had so many facts in it. There was a lot of information that I didn't know. I found if very interesting. We actually had an assembly where Rachel's Uncle, the first girl shot, came and spoke to us about how amazing she was, and I remember while he was talking I got goosebumps when he described the shooting.
ReplyDeleteYou guys did a great job providing the class with detailed information about the shooting. I learned new things that I didn't even know happened. My only recommendation is to make more eye contact with who you are presenting to in order to make it seem more engaging.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was very helpful how you guys did a step by step of what the shooters did during the incident so your listeners could follow along and imagine how emotional it was in those moments. If you explain an event play by play to me, I can picture it in my head more and thats what your presentation did for me. My recommendation wold to have more eye contact to add more emotion while presenting such a heavy topic.
ReplyDelete1) I loved the amount of facts in your presentation. I had no idea about this event before you explained it, so everything you guys mentioned was new information to me. It was crazy to me that the bomb did not go off, and it's tragic that the students felt the way they did and decided that their way to get justice was to bomb the school. It also shocked me that this event was a year in the making; it wasn't an idea that someone came up with and decided to make it happen the following week. The killers must have felt so strongly about doing this that they planned for an entire year.
ReplyDelete2) This may be because I had no prior knowledge of the event, but the presentation seemed to go a little fast for me, and I was also a little confused at parts, especially while you guys were talking about the cafeteria. Other than that, though, your presentation was interesting to listen to.
