A Little Bit About Me:
My name is Allison Clark but I usually just go by Alli! I'm from Delaware, Ohio and graduated from Hayes High School. I work at a place called Son of Thurman, which has been featured on Man vs. Food for our ridiculously large burgers, I have been there since they opened and love it because I get to interact with people from all over! I have a very big family and see them all on a day to day basis, we are all extremely close. By default, I'm a huge Ohio State fan and am extremely excited to enjoy this football season as a student. Other than a Buckeye fan, I enjoy music, as I said in class, I love all types of music. My love for classic (rock n roll) music has greatly influenced my career decision to be a history teacher, because I have a great appreciation for the past and how it has affected how we are today. In the future, I hope to enjoy school years with students to come and taking the summers to travel to various places all over the world, to fully enjoy everything that it has to offer. What interested me was the excerpt from "Just Girls: Hidden Literacies and Life in Junior High", and exactly how much underlies all of the social stigmas with girls in junior high, and students in general. The idea that stood out to me that most was the fact that the smallest thing in high school and junior high affected people so much socially. A sense of culture is created in this literary piece. and is shown through the communication between the girls. Everything seems different in retrospect, and many don't see that.
Son of Thurman is awesome! Do you know Morgan? What type of history interest you?
ReplyDeleteI loved my job too because I was able to interact with people and meet new people everyday! I found your comments on social stigmas with girls interesting as I never have seen that perspective before.
