My name is Zeb Lucas, I am eighteen years old and I am from Nevada, Ohio. I am a business major currently, and I plan on transferring to Cincinnati after two years at OSUM. Something interesting about me is that I love music. I was taught a lot of classical music while playing the violin when I was growing up, but I absolutely hated it. I wanted to play the music that I enjoyed instead. I ended up quitting taking lessons when I was entering my freshman year of high school but continued to play violin, and even taught myself piano, and a bit of guitar. Because I had taken eight years of violin, I had a great base for learning other instruments quite easily.
What stood out to me the most would be from "The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass" was how after Mr. Auld put an end to his lessons with Mrs. Auld, Frederick didn't let that stop him from learning to spell. He instead decided to teach himself, and used Mr. Auld as his motivation. He despised everything about Mr. Auld and used that hatred as his motivation to keep learning on his own.
That is really cool that you taught yourself to play guitar and piano. I would love to be able to play at least one musical instrument but I'm too musically challenged. I also don't have the patience to learn how to play. Hats off to you sir.
ReplyDeleteI am currently learning how to play guitar. What type of music do you enjoy?
